Sucking on sand
In view
Of a clear running stream

Searching for an oasis
While drowning
In the American dream

Trying to love what you hate
Starving for what is noble
Only eating what is served
Off the marketers plate

Jumping at hoping bunnies
Mistaking them for rats
Hungry for an ankle to bite

Choosing depression
In a world
That is full of delights
at
